By Car: Getting to Locarno Airport from Milan Malpensa
By Car: The journey from Milan Malpensa to Locarno Airport by car takes about 1.5 hours and offers stunning views of the Swiss and Italian landscapes. Here’s how you can get to Locarno:
- After exiting Milan Malpensa Airport, take the SS336 highway towards the A8/E62 motorway.
- Continue on A8/E62 northbound, following signs for Switzerland/Gravellona Toce.
- After about 40 minutes, take the A26 motorway towards Gravellona Toce and continue until you reach the exit for A9/E35 towards Switzerland (Lugano/Chiasso).
- Enter Switzerland and follow the A2 motorway towards Bellinzona.
- Once in Bellinzona, take exit 47 to join the A13 towards Locarno.
- Follow signs to Locarno and head towards Locarno Airport.
